The Potter’s House“Affinity4 is a bright idea because it does not take away from expenses that our constituents would normally use but it does allow them to designate a portion of those proceeds to support the causes they care about as we reach around the world to service those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The Potter’s House mission statement is to empower people to live the best possible lives that they can. We have done a great deal of philanthropic work in Africa. Currently we are digging wells in Africa for indigenous people who do not have the access to clean water. The average well might run as high as $15,000 depending on how far we have to drill. So to ask a donor to keep giving and giving they develop fatigue at a certain point. But if we ask them to understand that every time they go to pick up the phone or log-on to the Internet that they are actually helping us to do what we need to do. We have done that without causing them to incur any added expense. It’s been a highly effective program for us and it has been a program that our donors and our members still feel good about at the end of the day because they can help on any sociological, economically level of life.” Bishop T.D.
